My Coffee...My Style

Coffee drinking at home for me is an everyday ritual. Every morning starts with a cup of coffee and some random conversation with my wife. Like every other coffee drinker I am also slightly particular about my coffee. Thankfully my wife also likes my style of coffee, so I share my brew with her. This gives us the much-needed “together” time, as after that we get busy in our daily chores.
I like my coffee carefully brewed in a coffee percolator. I am partial towards this method of making coffee for my self because -
- It’s very difficult to over brew your coffee in a percolator, so coffee has the exact flavour that I want every time.
- I can always control the amount of ground coffee and water that I am brewing. So, if at times I am in mood of espresso - I can make that as well!
- It is a very simple, small, sturdy equipment to use and is easy to clean and store. It can’t break easily - you have to consider this point if you have a small kid at home who keeps raiding the kitchen cabinet; for God only knows what…..
- And, it is a very economical way of making an amazing cup of coffee.

My Favourite Coffee Bean
Coffee percolator is just one part of the story. Other important part is the coffee beans. I have an inclination towards artisan blends and I use “Flying Squirrel Parama blend” beans. Produced in Coorg region of Karnataka, India; the beans are dry and wet processed and pulp sun dried. The meandering aftertaste of caramel and cocoa; and the desired slight bitterness is the proof of the love and care that goes in cultivating and blending this coffee. And, like anyone else I also believe that a good cup of coffee is the result of the temperature, water, coffee beans, and equipment; and most importantly the consciousness of the person who is brewing it.
